POST-14: “Today I Saw A Wolf”.🐺😬

Today I saw a wolf.. not a baby wolf, an adult Wolf. My first reaction was shock. my second reaction was identify, to make sure it was indeed a wolf. the wolf came out of the woods like any other creature: raccoon, possum, squirrel, dog, cat and smaller creatures that I’ve seen before come out of the woods to find food in a trash pit.

The wolf was purely looking for sustenance, and in the end, the wolf was more afraid of me. If you research the adult size of a wolf, they're a little bit larger than the body of a mastiff. Their body is large and lean, ofoftentimes. Of course, I’m no wolf expert but I certainly identified it as a wolf coming out of the woods. I saw his head, then I Saw his paws encroaching upon the trash pit looking for food. Gray hair and all. After I blinked a few times, I saw it as clear as day..

It didn’t notice me therefore, he continued to crawl out of the woods, indeed for food. When I saw that the length of his body was well over 6 feet my next reaction was shock and then fear!.. Smaller creatures like possums and Gophers, armadillos, squirrels and even dogs. Are ready to differentiate between.. this was an actual wolf! I’ve seen deer run across the property, from the woods of course, which is just as equally shocking although knowing the carnivorous nature of a wolf, I was far more frightened.

I was within safe range when it noticed me as it turned and saw that I saw him/her. He got startled and ran back into the woods. It’s winter time, so it is pretty common for animals to come out of their dwellings in search for food. When it's cold, even roaches, insects, mice, and things of that sort tend to come out searching for warmth or food.

It’s important to keep things clean. It’s important to have a designated area where you store your trash or things that you do not need, and no longer want in your house. Although frightening, the wolf was simply foraging for food. The fact that he was within range on my property was irrelevant to him, but he knew instinctively to run away, because he sensed that I was upset. He or she realized they probably shouldn't be digging around in my yard. I didn’t kill the wolf, and it took off, thankfully.

This is very unsettling, as you can imagine. If you’re a Hunter, an outdoorsman or woman, to you this story may be exciting. Perhaps you enjoy the hunt. Perhaps you enjoy warding off animals that do not serve a supreme purpose in your ecosystem. Hopefully, you hunt not just for game, but for sustenance. Most animals hunt for what they need, and it's not for fun play, or games. They do it to bring back food to their Families.

I’ve seen a wolf before in real life, caged At a state fair. I’ve also seen coyotes in nature plus larger animals. Still frightening, but not that close to home. If you have never seen anything like this before, imagine watching a horror film, or Halloween, werewolf movie. It's extremely frightening. I took care of the situation, and ended up firing at the wolf at safe distance. Let’s hope he doesn’t return.

Wherever you are, Pay attention. Stay aware. Be cautious and stay prepared. As frightening as it was for me, a human, to see the Wolf, I think it’s important to understand that the wolf was as equally frightened as well (if not more). The wolf recognizes it's position in the animal Kingdom…

I’m just thankful I was able to scare it away. This story is a message for everyone to remain patient at all times. Stay aware and be clear minded. Remember to treat every person and everything around you with an equal amount of respect, that you yourself would want and deserve. There's no need for violence, and I'm not advocating it. But at the same time, there’s no need for fear. Happy Monday. 🔥🐺
